Bilingual Bird-Safe Windows Workshop

January 24, 2018 - Baltimore, MD

Please register in advance by emailing baltimore@audubon.org or calling 410-558-2473.

We love our birds here in Baltimore, but as many as a billion birds are dying annually from collisions with windows in the United States. It’s a terrible and unnecessary loss, but you can help! Many birds pass through our area during migration. Birds usually strike windows in the first thirty feet of glass upward from the ground. That's because this is the average height of a tree, which is often being reflected in the glass. Lynne Parks, Baltimore artist/curator and Outreach Coordinator for Lights Out Baltimore, teams up with Audubon to explore why birds strike and to lead us in creative solutions for problem windows. The activity will include creating beautiful cut-out patterns from CollidEscape window film. We request a $10 donation per household to help cover the cost of materials. Ages 5-adult.
